KUALA LUMPUR: BBCC Development Sdn Bhd and Zepp Hall Network Inc., which signed an agreement today, are jointly investing RM100 million on a concert hall at Bukit Bintang City Centre (BBCC).
BBCC Development CEO Datuk Richard Ong said the investment includes the cost of constructing and equipping the Zepp branded concert hall.
“We will construct the hall while Zepp Hall will provide the fit-out and equipment,” he told reporters at the signing ceremony today.
Under the agreement, Zepp Hall will operate the concert hall for 20 years. The parties have yet to lock-in the rental rate.
The concert hall, which will span over 70,000 sq ft, will be Zepp Hall’s first concert hall in Malaysia. Zepp Hall is a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) Inc and currently has five concert halls across Japan.
Slated to open by end of 2020, the concert hall in BBCC will have an audience capacity of 2,500 pax.
